Screenwriter and director James Gunn (Suicide Squad, Guardians of the Galaxy) has revealed that he is developing another Suicide Squad spin-off. Gunn very briefly discussed the project with Deadline, while also confirming that Season 2 of Peacemaker is likely.
«We're working on something else now, another TV show that's connected to that universe,» Gunn said. «I can't quite say.»

Deadline is also reporting that Gunn approached HBO Max for the «embryonic» idea, which might be the DC Project he mentioned he was incubating back in October. Elsewhere in his conversation with the publication, Gunn said that Peacemaker is «doing extraordinarily well, and we're excited, we all like doing it, [and for Season 2 to move forward] we just need to cross some Ts and dots some Is, which is basically me.»Gunn also shared that Peacemaker was conceived while editing Suicide Squad from quarantine. «I was starting to get bored, because I was locked down, I was depressed, I was having heavy anxiety like a lot of us were at that time and still today, and I needed something to take care of myself,» said Gunn. «That's where the show comes from… I needed something to soothe myself.»
