Deliriously entertaining and ruthlessly satirical, Coralie Fargeat’s explosive Cannes sensation is a be-careful-what-you-wish-for fable for the ages.”
In addition to Moore as Elisabeth Sparkle and Quelley as Sue, The Substance stars Dennis Quaid as Harvey, Edward Hamilton Clark as Fred, Gore Abrams as Oliver, Oscar Lesage as Troy, and Yann Bean as The Substance voice.
The Substance won the Best Screenplay award at the Cannes Film Festival. Fargeat — who made her feature film directorial debut in 2017 with Revenge, which stars Matilda Lutz — produced the movie alongside Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. Alexandra Loewy and Nicolas Royer served as executive producers.
The Substance has been positively received by critics and audiences. It made approximately $34.2 million at the global box office off an estimated $17.5
