Production for Season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is underway, and actress Sophia Nomvete, who plays Princess Disa, shared her excitement during a recent Deadline Contenders TV panel discussion. Deadline was first to report.
Nomvete described Season 2 as «going beautifully,» revealing that the characters will be dealing with the arrival of the villainous Sauron, which she called «absolutely mind-blowing.» Nomvete acknowledged the significance of her role as the first female dwarf and first dwarf of color in the Tolkien universe, adding that most of her anxiety with the role stemmed from her own expectations--which she referred to as her «warrior» moment. Composer Bear McCreary revealed that Nomvete had crafted a melody on set during filming, which he incorporated into the score in post-production. Nomvete described the experience as „special“ and „creative.“
