Mike Myers shows off his skills as 8 different characters, including 5 cult leaders, in the trailer for the new Netflix comedy series The Pentaverate. The titular Pentaverate (pronounced «pen-tav-urr-uht») is an Illuminati-style secret society of five men that have secretly been pulling the strings throughout history since the 14th century. The Pentaverate picks up in modern-day Canada, where a journalist (also played by Myers) finds himself on a mission to discover the truth and save the world while trying to investigate the Pentaverate. The series, which comes to the streaming platform on May 5, 2022, will continue a time-honored tradition for Mike Myers, who played multiple characters throughout the Austin Powers trilogy.
Although Myers plays so many different characters in the series, there is somehow still room for a broad ensemble cast. Ken Jeong plays casino owner Skip Cho, Keegan-Michael Key plays nuclear physicist Dr. Hobart Clark, Richard McCabe plays security leader Exalted Pikeman Higgins, Lydia West plays Ken's coworker Reilly Clayton, and Debi Mazar plays Pentaverate assistant Patty Davis, who might be more powerful than she lets on. Another performer taking on multiple roles, playing both the investigator The Maester of Dubrovnik and his sister The Saester of Dubrovnik, is Jennifer Saunders, the British comedian who recently appeared in the big screen Poirot mystery Death on the Nile.
