A recently released video promoting The Orville season 3 has teased large-scale Star Wars-like space battles in Seth McFarlane's sci-fi comedy series. The series stars McFarlane as the Orville's commanding officer Captain Ed Mercer. McFarlane stars alongside Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Gerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J.Lee, Mark Jackson, and Jessica Szohr.
A 25th Century interstellar spacecraft built for exploration, the USS Orville is the titular spacecraft and primary setting of McFarlane's live-action sci-fi comedy-drama. Mcfarlane portrays Mercer, a captain who fell into a life of hangovers and hand-off approaches to his duties when his divorce throws him off a bright future. Despite his slip-ups, Mercer is assigned to the Orville at the recommendation of his ex-wife and first officer Commander Kelly Grayson (Palicki), and the two put aside their differences as they and the crew embark on intergalactic adventures. After a long hiatus and a teaser image for The Orville season 3 released in December, fans of the series have been treated to a glimpse of the upcoming third season, titled The Orville: New Horizons, teasing the season's grand scale.
