Disney revealed when the new immersive luxury hotel, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, is set in the Star Wars timeline. The project was announced at D23 back in 2017, and only in 2019 was it revealed that the hotel would be based in the starship Halcyon. Also, at D23 2019, it was stated that the hotel would be a 2-night immersive stay aboard the ship. The resort is located near Hollywood Studios accompanying the park's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme area set on the planet Batuu.

A tweet from Disney Parks showcases a video that reveals the timeline of the Halcyon starship is set between the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, just like Galaxy's Edge in Hollywood Studios. The resort features many immersive interactions, including multiple storylines, chances to join the Resistance or the First Order, and character interactions from the movies. The hope of the resort is for guests to go on their own paths and interact with the aspects of Star Wars they feel particularly drawn to. This self-driven exploration is used to increase the level of immersion the resort can achieve in only a 2-night timeframe.
