Warning: contains a preview for Devil's Reign: X-Men #2!
Fans recently learned that two of Marvel's most dangerous women - Elektra and Emma Frost — both spent time working for the Kingpin. Each took care of a different aspect of Kingpin's dirtiest business but later moved on to more respectable ventures as heroes. However, a preview for Devil's Reign: X-Men #2 — by Gerry Duggan and Phil Noto — shows that their past is back to haunt them.
In the Devil's Reign storyline, the Kingpin, now the mayor of New York City, has started a crusade against superheroes and vigilantes. This includes the X-Men, who make their base in the majestic Treehouse, a giant tree built with Krakoan technology in Seneca Park. Emma Frost was able to repel Fisk's attempt to evict the X-Men by making the Treehouse the official embassy of Krakoa in New York, but in doing so attracted the wrath of the vengeful Kingpin. Fisk, however, is not planning to use force to get back at Frost, but his most powerful weapon: the treasure of dossiers and secret information that the Kingpin gathered on all the heroes during his many years as the information broker of the underworld.
