The first episode of Disney+’s Ms Marvel introduced a huge number of callbacks and MCU gags thanks to the inaugural AvengerCon, but 1 detail broke Avengers: Endgame’s timeline. Even with the explanations of Ant-Man revealing Endgame details and the hidden Easter egg confirming an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. also published their take on the battle with Thanos, the involvement of Gamora in superhero fandom doesn’t make sense.
AvengerCon’s many Easter eggs included nods to Star-Lord’s tragic thirst for fame, Groot and Rocket’s comedy nicknames, and a serious number of cosplayers. There were some oversights, however, with Scarlet Witch seemingly still considered a hero despite Westview, War Machine and Sam Wilson entirely absent, and Vision ignored in a commemorative memorial dedicated to Iron Man and Black Widow. Even Professor Hulk’s established celebrity status from Endgame was weirdly overlooked as his full Hulk form was celebrated instead.

But Gamora’s appearances at AvengerCon were the biggest issues. The Guardians of the Galaxy original — whose whereabouts are currently unknown in the MCU after Endgame — was the cosplay of choice for 3 separate Con attendees. This wouldn’t be out of the realms of logic ordinarily since Gamora is an incredibly impressive hero, but the very fact that the girls dressing up as her even know who she is makes no sense. The only way she could be a known hero would be if her heroism was established on Earth before Avengers: Infinity War. Before her Guardians comrades even set foot on Earth, in fact.
