The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal provides an exciting update as production on the upcoming HBO series continues. News of a long-awaited adaptation of Naughty Dog's best-selling video game, The Last of Us, was incredibly well-received when it was first announced back in early 2020. Set to tell the same story as the game, audiences will follow Joel Miller (Pascal) as he accompanies a young girl named Ellie across an apocalyptic wasteland. Pascal's fellow Games of Thrones alumni, Bella Ramsey, will star as Ellie who, unbeknownst to Joel, holds the key to a cure for the parasitic brain virus that has rapidly spread across America.
Filming officially commenced last July, with a number of exciting set videos making their way on social media which teased the impressive scale of the series' production. Each one of the series' 10 episodes are rumored to have been granted an eight-figure budget in order to bring the video game to life, with filming on the series expected to continue through into this summer. No release date has been confirmed for The Last of Us series as of yet, however, HBO's Chief Content Officer, Casey Bloys, recently revealed that he had seen some early episodes, and praised what he had seen so far as "amazing." Now, as production continues, Pascal has offered an update and opened up about how the experience of making The Last of Us has been for him.
