Bam Margera has officially dropped his lawsuit against Paramount over Jackass Forever. For 20+ years, Margera had a starring role in the Jackass franchise, appearing in the original MTV series, which helped him launch other crazy reality shows like Viva la Bam in 2003. Margera has been one of the most recognizable members of the crew for years and starred in the first three theatrically released Jackass films. Margera also briefly appeared in Jackass Forever for a single stunt and in archive footage for the end credits.
Drama behind the scenes of Jackass Forever first started making headlines when Margera revealed his scenes had been cut from the movie, with reports he had failed and dodged required urine and breathalyzer tests. A few months later, director Jeff Tremaine was granted a restraining order against Margera after he had supposedly sent threats to Tremaine and his family. Margera then officially filed a lawsuit against Johnny Knoxville and Paramount, claiming he was fired so he didn't have to be compensated for the stunts he wrote and was subject to «inhumane treatment» while on set.

The Wrap has reported that Margera has finally dropped the Jackass Forever lawsuit. Dennis S. Ellis, Margera's attorney, filed a request for the case against Paramount to be dismissed with prejudice, which means Margera can not decide to sue the studio again over his claims. It's unknown if a settlement had been reached prior to dismissal.
Many of Margera's fans and costars didn't think his lawsuit would go anywhere, which has turned out to be true. Paramount initially claimed Margera filed a "baseless, manifestly dishonest lawsuit" that was "riddled with lies."
