After a short delay, The Last of Us: Part I will finally make its PC debut later this month, from 28th March. The remake – which launched on PS5 late last year – is a looker, and its minimum spec requirements are quite high as a result. For example, you’ll need a 100GB SSD just to get the game started, and if you’re after 60fps in 4K with Ultra settings enabled, then you’ll want at least a GeForce RTX 4080 installed in your machine.
The port will support Ultrawide monitors, both for 21:9 Ultrawide and 32:9 Super Ultrawide aspect ratios – assuming you have the requisite hardware, of course. It’ll also feature 3D audio, wireless DualSense support, and an array of control customisation options, allowing you to rebind certain commands – and even play with a combination of controller and keyboard. Naughty Dog also says it’s implemented a slew of bug fixes and performance enhancements.
Interestingly, Sony is flogging a physical edition of the game from PlayStation Direct, which will include a Steam download code, steelbook display case, a reprint of the American Dreams comic series, and a bunch of early in-game unlocks. This, to our knowledge, is the first time the PlayStation maker’s released a physical version of one of its PC ports – but it makes sense, with all of the enthusiasm surrounding the series following the release of the TV show.
