It has been a week since The Last of Us season finale premiered, and fans are already experiencing withdrawals. To help negate the missing gap of a new episode this week, director Niel Druckmann had a plan up his sleeve. He took to social media on Sunday, the day episodes would be released on HBO, and shared an image teasing the arrival of a new and crucial character in season 2 of the hit series.
The first season of The Last of Us was based entirely on the first game in the franchise. By that accord, fans assumed the next season would be based on The Last of Us Part 2. However, the creators have confirmed that narrating the story of The Last of Us Part 2 will require more than one season, which is good news for fans because it means there will be more than one additional season to arrive. But, the characters from the second game are bound to make an appearance in the next season, one of which is partly featured in the image Druckmann shared with fans.

Druckmann's post reminded fans that there would be “no TLoU on HBO tonight,” but they need to be hopeful because “Season 2 is already on its way!” He ended the caption with the iconic phrase from The Last of Us franchise, “endure and survive.” The image in the post is of a woman holding a hammer, but only her forearm and weapon are visible. Fans of the game will immediately recognize this as Abby Anderson's arm, with the noticeable scar marks that were prominently featured in the game.
