Nexon has deployed The First Descendant hotfix 1.0.3 across all platforms, addressing frame generation issues as well as an 'abort mission' exploit, and more.
The new patch for the shooter is labeled as a hotfix but contains quite a few fixes and changes. Those playing the game on PC will be happy to learn that the 1.0.3 hotfix fixes a memory leak when using frame generation. In addition, it fixes a memory leak while playing in windowed mode. Also, the patch aims to resolve an issue of temporary frame drops when opening inventory with DLSS Frame Generation as well as an issue where the frame limit was not restored when using frame generation.
Another interesting change is that this new patch adds a new 'Away from keyboard (AFK)' option to the player report menu. The First Descendant hotfix 1.0.3 also comes with a fix for an exploit with the party member’s ‘Abort Mission’ system. Following this patch, the Void Shard attribute will now be displayed on the map directly. "We discovered and fixed an issue where a party member’s ‘Abort Mission’ system was being exploited to repeatedly play the Void Fusion Reactor without consuming any Shards", Nexon writes. "While addressing this glitch, we also considered why players might resort to using it.
