When Update 44 is out for The Elder Scrolls Online, there will be two new companions available to add to your collection. ZeniMax has a brand new lore blog introducing us to one of them –the High Elf Tanlorin.
As many of these lore blogs are, it's in the form of a letter, this time from a very familiar face, Razum-dar. Raz speaks having heard of a High Elf that had been removed from their family registry and essentially disowned. Normally this wouldn't really be of any notice, but as he says in the letter, “This individual’s movements seem to coincide with matters very much of the Dominion’s concern”.
Last month, the ESO team unveiled what's coming in Update 44, including the two companions, Tanlorin and Khajit Terith-Var. In those reveals, Tanlorin was referred to as “scrappy”.
Mysteriously, Tanlorin’s family info, reason for expulsion, and more were absent from the official record. Raz witnesses Tanlorin among the people. Tattooed and loud, generous, and friendly, and clearly having dropped the fashion and other high-society qualities that might have pegged them as from a prominent family. After the elf disappears, Raz continues his investigation of corrupt officials. One, suspected of embezzlement, was found in his office with his private safe unlocked and emptied, except for proof of his guilt. A certain elf was in the vicinity more than once.
After reading the lore blog, the previous reveal that Tanlorin’s passive perk is to help you open locks more efficiently makes a whole lot of sense.
Update 44 for The Elder Scrolls Online base game hits PC/Mac on October 28th and console on November 13th. The two companions will be available to ESO+ members or as Crown Store purchases.
