Lucasfilm has released the first trailer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2, teasing an action-packed return for Clone Force 99. Acting as a spinoff from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Bad Batch follows a group of genetically enhanced clone troopers who embark on a series of dangerous mercenary missions in the aftermath of the Clone Wars. The first season launched on Disney+ last year and earned positive reviews from both fans and critics, with Disney announcing shortly thereafter that a second season was in the works and that it would premiere in 2022.
The first season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch consists of 16 episodes with a finale that paves the way for further adventures. After newcomer Omega (Michelle Ang) joins forces with the Bad Batch (Dee Bradley Baker) and proves an invaluable member of the team, the final episode of the season sees the destruction of Tipoca City on Kamino and a few close calls for several of the team members. While details were short on season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, composers the Kiner Brothers recently confirmed that there will be a significant time jump in season 2, with Omega being "a little bit older."
