Hulu's upcoming comedy-action movie The Princess has just received a trailer. Described as a fight to the death set inside a fairytale, the new film features The Act star Joey King as the titular heroine. Written by Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton, the story centers on the Princess and her rebellion against an arranged marriage to the cruel and nefarious Julius (Dominic Cooper), a man intent on claiming her father’s crown.
Now, the official trailer for The Princess, released by 20th Century Studios, provides a first look at King’s damsel. Though opening to the traditional intonement of “once upon a time” against the backdrop of a picturesque castle with a princess locked away in a tower, that is where the trailer’s similarities to the typical Disney format ends. Fleeing the altar of her arranged marriage only to be promptly imprisoned, King declares: “These guys f****d with the wrong Princess.” Backed by the sound of Joan Jett's Bad Reputation, the princess launches into a series of brutal fight scenes as she attempts to save her family and kingdom from her would-be-husband, whom she promises: “I’ll never stop until I’m holding your still-beating heart.” Check out the trailer below:

Helmed by Le-Van Kiet, the film also stars the likes of Olga Kurylenko (Black Widow) and Veronica Ngo (The Last Jedi). As well as leading The Princess, King serves as an executive producer alongside Guy Riedel, with Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious), Toby Jaffe, and Derek Kolstad (John Wick) producing the picture from 20th Century Studios and Original Film. The R-rated fairytale is scheduled to make its debut on Hulu on July 1.
