Blizzard Entertainment had delayed , but that was before it decoupled the PVP mode from the PVE mode. The switch has seemingly allowed the team to release some parts of earlier than anticipated, as Blizzard not only announced an October 2 release date for the PVP mode, but also stated that it is going free-to-play. This also came alongside a new hero reveal.
