In the Marvel Universe, the Hulk is usually considered a rampaging threat. But in actuality, the Avengers are a bigger threat to him than the other way around.
The origin of the Incredible Hulk is well known in Marvel fandom. In an attempt to save Rick Jones from an explosion, scientist Bruce Banner got in the way of a gamma bomb. The explosion turned him into the Hulk. Scared and unable to control his anger, the Hulk periodically went on rampages and destroyed property. But the Hulk was always heroic at heart. He even teamed with other Marvel heroes and became a founding member of the Avengers.

But the Hulk's relationship with the Avengers has been uneasy at best. In just the second issue, Hulk left the team after he was being bullied. This trend continued all the way to The Immortal Hulk #49 by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett, where the Hulk was being framed for a gamma explosion by the Leader Samuel Sterns. Needing help to stop Sterns, Hulk arrived at the Baxter Building, where several members of the Avengers were gathered. But rather than listen to what the Hulk had to say, the Avengers just fed off his anger and attacked him unprovoked.
The Hulk gets a bad reputation as a violent monster in the Marvel Universe. But his anger is tied directly to his gamma powers. He just can control them. Even more than that, Bruce Banner has had a tremendously abusive childhood. This combination leads to a lot of the Hulk’s outbursts. It's just not his fault.
