Herdier is returning to Pokémon GO Raids, appearing at the 3-star level. Fighting multiple Herdier Raids is a good opportunity for players to encounter a shiny, or gather enough candy to evolve it. For players at a high-level, Herdier can be a quick solo opportunity using Fighting-type Pokémon. Lower-level players may need to assemble a team of two or more to be able to win against Herdier. Herdier is appearing as part of the new July Raids, included with a new Pokémon GO Battle Series. As a Normal-type, Herdier is weather-boosted during partially cloudy conditions, giving players the opportunity to catch it at higher-CP.
Herdier is a pure Normal-type in Pokémon GO, meaning it only has a weakness to Fighting, which will be 2x effective on it. Herdier resists Ghost-type moves at a 1/2x rate. Bringing any Pokémon besides Ghost-types to this Raid will be effective, but bringing a full team of Fighting-types is the best bet to ensuring victory. Herdier has access to Play Rough, a Fairy-type move, meaning lower-level players need to watch out for the super-effective move against their Fighting-type Pokémon. If possible, bringing Pokémon that have Fighting-type moves, but themselves are not Fighting-types, would be a good strategy.

The best possible counters to Herdier are high-CP legendary Pokémon or Pokémon that can Mega Evolve in Pokémon GO. Mewtwo, Darkrai, Cobalion, Pheromosa, and Mega Lopunny would all easily take down the Raid, but many players might not have access to these kinds of Pokémon. There are more accessible Fighting-type options.
Herdier also evolves from Lillipup and evolves into Stoutland with 100 candies. Winning Raids can also help
