Last year during The Game Awards, one of the world premiere announcements was that Telltale Games was returning with a game with its signature episodic storytelling. The game will be based on The Expanse, a series of sci-fi novels adapted to television that ran for 6 seasons on SyFy and Amazon Prime. It was already known that the studio was making a triumphant return with The Wolf Among Us 2 in development but surprised fans of the studio, announcing that it was working on a licensed property.
Geoff Keighley has made some announcements confirming a variety of games will have previews during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event. Keighley as well as The Telltale Games Twitter accounts mention that The Expanse: A TellTale Series will be revealing a gameplay trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 23rd.
Tales From the Borderlands Could Be Making a Big Comeback
The TellTale Games Twitter account also included a tease that the first look at gameplay will premiere during the show. The short clip features a person, presumably Drummer, floating through the halls of a ship in the style that the series is known for. Deck Nine, the studio behind Life is Strange: True Colors will also be assisting in developing this game. The gameplay trailer will hopefully show off a mix of familiar elements, the scope of the game, as well as some of Telltale Games' signature dialogue. The Expanse game will be based around Camina Drummer played by Cara Gee, reprising her TV role.
Speaking of returning characters, Shohreh Aghdashloo who played Chrisjen Avasarala in the TV show, recently teased in a tweet that she was recording lines for a video game. She is no stranger to video game performances, playing characters in the Destiny and Mass
