Tears of the Kingdom has a few new Sage abilities (they're a little controversial), but it doesn't bring back all of Breath of the Wild's tricks. You can't summon bombs out of thin air anymore, and you can't shoot up into the sky with your glider on command. The alternative is to build a machine or strap a rocket to your shield, which probably violates a few health and safety codes.
That is until very-nice-shoes' alternative popped up on the game's subreddit. They found that if you drop a spicy pepper and charge attack it, you'll create a vertical gust of wind you can use to shoot upward. It's basically Revali's Gale, and given how easy spicy peppers are to come by (especially compared to rockets and hot air balloons), it's a solid strategy. Better to waste a pepper to quickly get up a ledge than your prized Zonai artefacts.

It's also much easier to pull off if you're in the middle of a fight. Popping a rocket down and attaching it to your equipment is a bit clunky when four goblins are trying to kill you, whereas this will set them on fire while giving you a daring escape. Or a vantage point. Whatever works in the moment. "You just need a one handed flame weapon and a pepper and it doesn't require any space or set up besides holding down Y," very-nice-shoes said.
It's a hit with players already, shooting to the top of the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit with 4,400 upvotes as of writing. "Oh I needed this! Been running out of rockets and have wayyy too many peppers!" kitsunemeschief wrote. "You finally fucking did it! this is the one frfr [...] I don't play with shields and this is the true successor!! Rather use up spicy pepper than rockets
