Season 2 has added three more names to its cast, including Orange Is The New Black alum. The Fox anthology series, developed by Howard Gordon, will drop new episodes this fall.
Based on the award-winning British series of the same name, Accused — told from a defendant’s point of view — is a thriller chronicling the harrowing crimes of different accused individuals in each episode.
Per the synopsis, Accused “chronicles ordinary people getting caught up in extraordinary situations, where one wrong turn leads to another, until it’s too late to turn back.”
In addition to Schilling, the anthology series has also added Justin Chambers (Grey’s Anatomy) and Danny Pino (Mayans M.C.) to its Season 2 cast, joining previously announced cast members Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives), William H. Macy (Shameless), Nick Cannon (Love Don’t Cost a Thing), and Michael Chiklis (The Shield).
Schilling, Chambers, and Pino are set to star in the “April’s Story” episode, following a nurse’s life-altering crime. Schilling will star as April, while Chambers and Pino will play Tyler and Jake, respectively. The second season will also reunite Pino and Chiklis, who both starred in MGM+’s crime thriller Hotel Cocaine.
The series’ executive producers include Gordon, Alex Gansa, David Shore, Erin Gunn, and Daniel Pearle, with Gordon and Pearle serving as showrunners. Additional executive producers include Milan Cheylov, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Jacob Cohen-Holmes, Jimmy McGovern, Sita Williams, Roxy Spencer, and Louise Pedersen.
Best known for her role as Piper Chapman in Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black, Schilling is an Emmy-nominated actress with starring roles in The Lucky One, Stay, The Overnight, Take Me, Family, The Prodigy, Mercy, Pam & Tommy, and Dear Edward.
Chambers’ acting credits include Liberty Heights, The Wedding Planner, Hysterical Blindness, Broken City, and The Offer. Meanwhile, Pino is known for starring as Miguel Galindo in the crime drama Mayans M.C.
