Footage from Dave Filoni’s upcoming animated Star Wars anthology series, Tales of the Jedi, includes Mace Windu and a very young Ahsoka Tano. In the wake of the sequel trilogy, Disney/Lucasfilm has taken the galaxy far, far away to the small screen, beginning with The Mandalorian—which has brought back many of the franchise’s animated and live-action characters. Disney+ is now stocked withStar Wars shows like The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Visions, and more shows like Andor and Ahsoka are on the way.
Officially announced at Star Wars Celebration 2022, Tales of the Jedi will be an animated anthology series focusing on Jedi from the prequel movie era. It comes from Dave Filoni, creator of The Clone Wars and a writer/director on The Mandalorian. Tales of the Jedi will feature many stories about notable Jedi, including Ahsoka Tano, Count Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn and Mace Windu. Tales of the Jedi is said to be a series of six shorts that will primarily focus on Count Dooku and Ahsoka, with each character receiving three episodes each. The footage shown included a young Dooku being chastised by Qui-Gon and Mace Windu for pushing the boundaries of being a Jedi, telling him he has gone too far. Additionally, Ahsoka is shown as a baby using the Force for the first time, and then again as a toddler facing off against a creature that looks like a cheetah before touching it on the nose.
