Liam Neeson’s son, Micheál Richardson, will voice a young Qui-Gon Jinn in the upcoming animated Star Wars anthology series titled Tales of the Jedi. It’s been over two decades since Neeson made his franchise debut as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Master—who recognized Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One—in Episode I — The Phantom Menace. Since then, fans have eagerly anticipated Neeson’s live-action return (as a Force ghost or otherwise) to the galaxy far, far away.
Thanks to Disney+’s expansion of the Skywalker saga in recent years, several animated and live-action characters have returned to the franchise via the small screen in shows like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Previously announced projects are also on the horizon, including Andor, The Mandalorian season 3, The Bad Batch season 2, and Ahsoka. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen recently reprised their roles from the prequel trilogy in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Being that Neeson has lent his voice to The Clone Wars and The Rise of Skywalker, fans have speculated Qui-Gon could cameo in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The actor has said he’d prefer his live-action return to be in a Star Wars film. Nevertheless, it’s been revealed that will once again voice his character alongside his son in Tales of the Jedi.
