And, though Cere didn't actually embrace the dark side, the glitch could be seen as a comical punishment for some of Cere's mistakes that come back to haunt her in the campaign of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Cere's past as a Jedi Knight, along with her failures, created a complex narrative that kept players enamored with the story. While Cere's role in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is unknown, it is safe to assume that she will still be dedicated to rebelling against the Empire and rebuilding the Jedi Order.
