Nightdive Studios’ System Shock Remake is finally available on PC after years of delays and changes. Reviews have been generally positive (check out ours here), but what’s the status of the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions?
In its 100th Kickstarter post, the developer confirmed, “Console versions are running smoothly” but still require a “few rounds of QA support before we move to certification.” No ETA at this point, but they could release before the year is out.
In the meantime, PC players can look forward to the first major patch, which plans to fix softlocks, improve the enemy AI in Realspace and Cyberspace, and add a head-bob option in the accessibility settings. Using the Surgery Machine will now autosave regardless of difficulty, and it will no longer get stuck in a permanently busy state.
This is in addition to crash fixes, balance changes, and more. Check out the full notes below, though the patch is currently “pending” with no release date yet. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
