As Wordle players are now deeply familiar with, the goal of the game is to solve each day's puzzle in as few guesses as possible. Losing Wordle is a rarity, however, so imply solving the puzzle each day doesn't necessarily feel challenging or particularly rewarding. Being able to finish a puzzle in two or three guesses, though, is always exciting to share via Twitter timeline. Survivle inverts that idea, challenging players to take as many guesses as possible to solve the puzzle.

Unlike Wordle, Survivle has a clear, challenging goal with equal footing for every player for every puzzle. For every puzzle, the player tries their best to avoid solving the word. As such, the goal remains to figure out the word, but to use as many guesses that aren't that word as possible. Players may find that it's very hard not to solve Survivle (and Wordle, for that matter) in no more than four or five guesses. Players will have to stretch their vocabularies.
