Warning! Spoilers for Earth-Prime #2
After hearing the news of the upcoming Superman & Lois comic based on The CW series, Man of Steel actor Tyler Hoechlin responded with excitement. The ongoing series has incorporated various comic book influences that hadn’t been adapted to screen before, so the announced comic iteration is fitting.
Last month, DC Comics unveiled plans for a six-issue event titledEarth-Prime, set to unite many of the heroes from The CW universe. As the miniseries begins with Batwoman, the followup issue will be centered around Superman, Lois, and their family. Earth-Prime #2 will be written by Adam Mallinger, Jai Jamison, and Andrew Wong, with art by Tom Grummett and Norm Rapmund. Although the individual series have each received live action crossovers in the past, including a comic book iteration of The CW’s take onCrisis on Infinite Earths, this is the first time a crossover set in this continuity has taken place solely in comics.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Superman actor Tyler Hoechlin was told about the announced comic and expressed enthusiasm, saying, “No way! Oh, that’s awesome. Those are those surreal moments that still come around, doing this kind of stuff.” With series writers Adam Mallinger, Jai Jamison, and Andrew Wong at the helm of the project, there’s good reason to believe it will authentically replicate the feeling of the show. The released cover for Earth-Prime #2 showcases Hoechlin’s Superman carrying Lois, flying away from Kent Farm with their sons Jordan and Jon watching in the short distance.
