Lego and Nintendo really struck gold when they teamed up three years ago. What started as a few sets to kick things off has now become an entire Mushroom Kingdom, and there's still more to come. In fact, there's still more to come in time for the holidays. Two new sets that will add to the Super Mario collection have been revealed, both of which will be released on December 1, 2023. A Penguin Family set, and one with everyone's favorite Super Mario Bros. Wonder character Nabbit as its star.
A few Mario die-hards have voiced their discontent about the limitations placed on Yoshi and Nabbit in Mario Wonder since the characters have been designed to make the game easier for anyone who chooses to use them.
Even though the sets won't be available to buy until December 1, the store pages for both are live right now, revealing both sets are just $19.99 each. Neither set includes traditional Minifigures, and while that will be a sticking point for some Lego aficionados, that's pretty much par for the course for Mario Lego. Mario and the other main characters aren't Minifigures either, instead turned into more blocky versions of themselves so users can fit batteries inside and they can interact with the sets.
Toad's Shop, a location seen in various 2D Mario games, has now manifested in the real world and immortalized in Lego. Included with the set are two characters, Yellow Toad and Nabbit, and elements that interactive figures from other sets can interact with.
The good news for those of you who don't like Nabbit is the newer Mario character is only a visitor to the set he's a part of. Yellow Toad is the star attraction as the new set is modeled after the more iconic character's in-game shop. On top of a Toad and a Nabbit built
