Bomberman returns to a Nintendo console in Super Bomberman R 2. The Konami title was shown off during today's Nintendo Direct Mini, which focused on third-party games. The game is scheduled for 2023.
R 2 will feature a new mode called Castle Mode with up to 15 players in a team having to blast their way to treasure chests, while one player has to defend and attempt to hold them off.

Another feature of Super Bomberman R 2 will be the ability to share your own battle stages. The game is due to launch sometime next year, without an exact date as yet. You can watch the announcement trailer below:
This will be a follow-up to Super Bomberman R which launched on Switch in March 2017. It was the sixth entry in the Super Bomberman series, leaving a 20-year gap since 1997's Super Bomberman 5. The title was later ported to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Although reviews were a little mixed, the title did well and went on to sell over two million copies worldwide. The original developer of Bomberman, Hudson Soft, was dissolved in 2012, but members of the team worked on the new entry.
