Deadline broke the news about Ayer signing on to direct The Beekeeper, nothing that Miramax will shop the project at the upcoming Cannes market. The hope is that The Beekeeper will launch a franchise for the studio. The film's basic premise sounds slightly in the realm of being a lighthearted film. Think of how Hobbs and Shaw had moments of humor despite primarily being an action-adventure film. The upcoming film will also no doubt have other notable or high-profile names to join Statham and Ayer.
