The Stranger Things season 4, part 1 ending seems to be headed towards the Upside Down taking over the entire town of Hawkins, because even if Eleven wins her inevitable fight with Vecna, it's bound to come at a great cost. Considering how Stranger Things season 5 will reportedly be the last, it is high time for every Stranger Things Upside Down portal to begin expanding into the real world, laying the foundations for the greatest challenge the residents of Hawkins and the Scoop Troop will ever face. Here's why the Upside Down taking over Hawkins is an achievable goal for Stranger Things season 4 villain Vecna.
It was Dustin, Erica, and Lucas who figured out that every one of Vecna's gruesome serial murders results in an open portal to Stranger Things' Upside Down world.
