The previously leaked Stellar Blade demo for PlayStation 5 will be made available later this week on Match 29.
Earlier this month, the game's demo was briefly available for download through the PlayStation Store. From the looks of it, someone put up the demo for the title too early as Sony was quick to pull the demo (including gained licenses) from its store. Fast forward less than a month, and Sony and developer Shift Up have now confirmed that the demo is arriving later this week ahead of the game's full release next month.
Alongside a release date for the demo, Sony has also confirmed that saved data from the demo will carry over to the full game for those who complete the demo stage. In addition, we now also have a demo teaser trailer, which we've included below:
"The demo takes place from the very beginning of the game when Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad is sent to Earth on a mission to reclaim the planet from the Naytiba, up to the first boss fight", the description for the upcoming demo reads. "This first stage will include the tutorial phase to help you familiarize yourself with basic combat features as you explore post-war Eidos 7, a human city now infested by the Naytiba, giving you an early grasp of gameplay mechanics that will serve you throughout the game’s story."
Some lucky users were already able to play the demo earlier this month, and gameplay from it surfaced online. This gameplay showed the already controversial Skin Suit for Eve. As it turns out, this isn't just a fancy-looking cosmetic as it also somewhat increases the game's difficulty by disabling the shield of main protagonist Eve.
Stellar Blade launches globally for PS5 on April 26. The title will likely also come to PC later on. Read more on wccftech.com
