Valve has performed a feat that seemed impossible just a few short months ago. After boosting production in July to fulfill all Steam Deck reservations before the end of the year, Valve was even able to beat their own expectations by getting all Q3 orders done before October. That meant you could order a Steam Deck now and get it before Christmas.
Now you won’t even have to wait until November. According to the official Steam Deck site, reservations for the Deck have been removed, and all orders will now be fulfilled within one to two weeks.

The news comes courtesy of Steam back-end examiner SteamDB, which noted the removal of all reservation lists about an hour ago. This led to a flood of new orders, with SteamDB now reporting that the 64GB model of the Deck could potentially go back to reservations. The official site still doesn't indicate so, and Steam itself also still doesn't list a reservation wait for now.
Even so, getting Deck production in gear for the holiday rush means that Valve is set to make a ton of cash and there are going to be a lot of happy PC gamers this Christmas.
Another option for those who don't quite have enough scratch for a Steam Deck is Logitech's new handheld cloud-gaming console, the Logitech G. It doesn't have the Deck's fancy touchpads or its big internal storage (for some models), but it does come with Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now pre-installed, and you can stream from your Xbox or PC straight to the Logitech G. It's also a lot cheaper at just $299, or $349 if you don't catch it during the pre-order window. Shipping starts later this month.
