Xbox Games with Gold September 2022: free games available right now

Looking for the latest free Xbox Games with Gold titles? Then you’ve come to the right place. We’re well into 2022 now as September has come around once again, bringing us a whole new list of free games to try out if you’re an Xbox Live Gold member.

Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can usually claim four games a month and September 2022 is no different. Unlike Sony's PlayStation Plus free games, Games with Gold takes a staggered approach, gradually launching across the month. There's usually two games for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, alongside two more for Xbox 360 owners (and through Xbox One backward compatibility). 

However, according to a recent message from Microsoft(opens in new tab), Xbox 360 will no longer be offered come October 2022, stating «we have reached the limit of our ability to bring Xbox 360 games to the catalog». It's unfortunate but hardly surprising, given how Microsoft mainly focuses on Xbox Game Pass offerings these days. 

Still, for as long as these are being provided, we'll update this Xbox Games with Gold hub each month as new titles are made available. Here is a closer look at the games available right now:

Available September 1 — 30 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Double Kick HeroesDouble Kick Heroes promises a heavy metal-driven adventure, seeing us battling both zombies and militia «in your tricked-out Cadillac – the Gundillac.» Mixing a shoot 'em up with rhythm gameplay, there are 30 levels to experience.
