The Xbox Game Pass subscription service has received yet another update, this time adding a brand-new day one horror game for subscribers to check out in the form of Scorn. Microsoft has updated its Xbox Game Pass offerings multiple times throughout the month of October 2022, and some of the new additions go perfectly with the Halloween season.
Earlier this week, Xbox Game Pass updated its selection of games to add Coral Island, Eville, and the Halloween-themed Costume Quest. Costume Quest may not be a day one release, but its addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup was still well-received by fans because of how it fits the Halloween season. Costume Quest, for the uninitiated, is a family friendly turn-based RPG where Trick-or-Treaters have to utilize the power of their costumes to fight back against evil forces.
Microsoft Reportedly Tried to Bring Xbox Game Pass to PlayStation
Whereas Costume Quest was a family-friendly addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, the new Xbox Game Pass game added today is anything but. As of today, Xbox Game Pass subscribers on PC and Xbox Series X can try Scorn from Ebb Software, an incredibly graphic first-person horror game set on an alien world where players are subjected to all kinds of horrific body horror.
Scorn reviews have been mixed, but those with Xbox Game Pass are able to try the game for themselves without worrying about whether it's worth the full $40 price of admission or not. Like other day one Xbox Game Pass games, Scorn is available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to play for nothing more than their usual Game Pass subscription fee. This way, Game Pass subscribers can form their own opinion of the game and decide for themselves if it's a solid new horror game or a disappointment.
