DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042 will join the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play libraries in the near future.
Battlefield 2042 will be available for Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play subscribers “with the launch of Season 3”, the studio said in a development update video released on Thursday, which is viewable below.
While a Season 3 launch date has yet to be confirmed, Season 2 started in late August and is drawing to a close.

Free Battlefield 2042 access periods on all platforms are also planned for December.
Xbox players will be able to sample the title free of charge from December 1-4, Steam players from Dec 1-5, and PlayStation players from December 16-23.
While publisher EA had previously committed to releasing four seasons of live service content for Battlefield 2042 over the course of a year, DICE said today that more content is on the way too.
“We’re already in pre-production on new content that will come after Season 4 next year,” the studio revealed.
Season 3, which is titled Escalation, will be revealed fully later this month. In response to Battlefield 2042’s “polarising” Specialists, it will introduce a class system in early 2023 with the game’s 3.2 update.
“In seasons three and four we’ll continue to bring evolved versions of our existing maps from launch,” DICE also said. “You’re already playing these reworked versions of Kaleidoscope, Renewal and Orbital, and in Season 3 you’ll get to play on new versions of Manifest and Breakaway.”
