Starfield was quickly one of the biggest and most anticipated video game titles launching this year. Fans eagerly counted down the days until Bethesda was ready to release their brand new RPG into the marketplace. However, now that the game is finally here, some of you might wonder when that official mod support will make its way out. Mods have been one of the reasons some games continue to see plenty of active players today. Likewise, Bethesda is no stranger to allowing mods and embracing community creations.
Their past games continue to see new mods added into the mix, such as the The Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises. However, if you’re after mods on Starfield, you’ll have to enjoy them through the PC platform. Mods were quickly added into the mix by the community. Some mods help further improve the gameplay experience, while others look to add more wacky additions to the game. Unfortunately, these mods are not done through the Creation Kit. Thanks to Insider Gaming, we’re discovering that Creation Kit will be coming to the video game sometime next year, 2024.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Creation Kit, this toolset allows modders to make tweaks to the game far easier. Likewise, this might enable these mods to be acquired by Xbox Series X/S players. However, the mods are going to get that official support from the Bethesda team next year, thanks to an interview between Famitsu and Bethesda’s game director, Todd Howard. Todd went on record and stated that once mods are ready, players will be able to do almost anything as we have done in the past. Furthermore, he stated that mods will be supported next year but that they will do it in a big way because they love them, too.
