2022 is turning out to be a stellar year for Star Wars as fans have been treated to a slew of new and upcoming content ranging from TV series to the slate of video games currently in production. Among these, the remake of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has been one of the most expected from fans. A recent announcement suggests that more Knights of the Old Republic updates are on the way.
While the original Knights of the Old Republic was developed by Bioware, the daunting task of remaking the popular title falls under the responsibility of Aspyr Media. Although the Embracer-owned studio may not hold the same reputation and familiarity as other massive game companies, Aspyr comes with years of experience working on the Star Wars franchise. The studio has brought games like Star Wars: Episode I – Racer, Star Wars: Republic Commando, and both Star Wars Jedi Knight titles to modern systems. Though the Knights of the Old Republic remake may be one of its most ambitious projects yet.

Fans first got a glimpse of what to expect at Sony's September 2021 showcase, where a teaser trailer for the game was released. Now, according to the Embracer Group, more updates for the game are due to arrive «in the next several months.» The announcement was made during the Embracer Group Q4 report. Further, board member and Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch stated that his company will be assisting with Aspyr's development efforts citing the scope of the Knights of the Old Republic remake.
Though no concrete timeline has been shared on when fans can expect more updates, «several months» could mean that Aspyr may share details at June's Summer Game Fest or at a rumored
