In the future, there is the possibility that the Star Wars: Jedi games could turn into a trilogy. The first game in the series, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, was both received well and sold impressively. So much so that a sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, is in the works, with another game potentially coming after its release.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released November 15, 2019. Set five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode 3, the story tells the tale of one Cal Kestis, a Padawan who is hunted down by the Galactic Empire's Imperial Inquisitors while trying to complete his Jedi training. The game was well received, selling 10 million copies by 2020, with a unique spin on the Star Wars game formula. The gameplay took on a more Metroidvania approach, giving Cal more abilities on some planets to make it easier to progress through or explore more of other planets, while its sequel Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be delving into a more open world style.
