A reliable Crash Bandicoot and Spyro insider has claimed that the unannounced title that Toys for Bob is working with Microsoft on is a fourth Spyro the Dragon game. And no, we don't count Enter the Dragonfly.
As great as the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy was, it's been a long time since the purple dragon got his own dedicated game and didn't just show up as a cameo in Crash's more recent ventures. Fans have been desperate to see a new game for a long while now and assumed that it was the next project that Toys for Bob was working on, but those hopes were dashed when it announced it was going independent.
Although that was undeniably a great business move for Toys for Bob considering all of the layoffs that took place after Xbox acquired Activision Blizzard, it did seem to put an end to the Spyro 4 rumours. Then, it was confirmed that Xbox and Toys for Bob had come to an agreement that its next game would be funded by Microsoft, which got us all hopeful for Spyro's return.
As reported by reliable Crash Bandicoot and Spyro insider Canadian Guy Eh, the unrevealed project that Toys for Bob is collaborating with Microsoft on is in fact a fourth Spyro the Dragon game. In a new video posted by Candian Guy Eh, he reveals that he's heard from multiple sources at PAX East and over the past few months that Toys for Bob is working on a new Spyro title.
Canadian Guy Eh says that he's heard about a potential fourth Spyro game for some time, but that some sources were being careful about saying too much. That changed when Windows Central confirmed that Xbox and Toys for Bob are working together, which caused the anonymous sources to reveal more details and confirm that Spyro the Dragon 4 is currently in development.
Even though Canadian Guy Eh has had a good track record when reporting on Crash and Spyro in the past and says that Spyro 4 being in development is a "fact", it's worth taking it as a rumour until the project is officially unveiled.
