After a 56 year wait, new posters for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds have taken the unprecedented step of giving Spock an official first name. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is the latest Star Trek spinoff series, following the adventures of Captain Pike, Lieutenant Commander Spock, and the rest of the crew of the USS Enterprise. The series is set to premiere on May 5th when it debuts on Paramount+.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds takes place after the events of Star Trek: Discovery’s season 2, which introduced audiences to new versions of characters of Spock, Captain Pike, and Number One, and will additionally act as a prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS). The series was commissioned off the back of the positive response that the new versions of those classic characters generated among the Star Trek fanbase and general audiences, and will aim to add more depth to their backstories. In addition, the show will flesh out characters like Dr. M'Benga, a young Uhura, and Nurse Chapel, as well as introducing completely new characters to round out the main cast.
