Ghost of Tsushima's almost two years of post-launch development are coming to an end. In the notes of a recent patch, the developer says that it will not be "actively working on any additional patches", and thanks players for their support since its 2020 release.
This comes eight months after the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, and possibly indicates that Sucker Punch is ready to move on to its next project. The studio says that it will "continue to monitor feedback" and act on any "high priority bugs or issues that emerge", but the overall wording of the statement strongly suggests that the team is ready to move on.

"We want to say a huge THANK YOU to the entire community for the incredible amount of support and feedback we’ve gotten since launch", reads a statement from Sucker Punch (thanks, Push Square). "When Legends launched in October 2020, we never expected to have such an active community more than a year and a half later, and we could not be more thankful to everyone who has been with us on this journey!"
The developer asks fans who are experiencing any major bugs to report them to the official Twitter account or subreddit. With this in mind, it looks like a small team will stay on to ensure Ghost of Tsushima is still running smoothly for fans.
Considering Ghost of Tsushima's success, and the fact that Sony was happy to keep the developer on the game for so long, it's possible that the studio's next game will be a sequel. Nothing has been confirmed so far.
