The long-awaited New Game+ update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has released, with update 1.002.000 now live with a bundle of other new features and content alongside it. Check it out in a new trailer celebrating Spider-Man 2’s many Game of the Year awards from 2023.
A lot of the features in update 1.002 do exactly what they say on the tin. New Game+ lets you replay the game’s story with all of the unlocks earned through a previous playthrough, giving you a wonderfully fully-powered versions of Peter and Miles to whip your early game enemies with. Then there’s Mission Replay, which quite simply lets you replay a mission from the game that you want to enjoy all over again. There’s new unlocks as well with Ultimate Levels, Golden Gadget styles, and more.
There’s also brand-new accessibility features like Screen Reader and Audio Descriptions, and they sound about as comprehensive as you could wish for. Even the in-game FNSM App and the map, skill tree, tech readouts and more that are under the Touch Pad menus are included in the Screen Reader, while the AD gives captions and options to cover off-screen sounds, music cues, gameplay sounds and more.
As always, though, there’s some new suits to dress up in, with these “Fly ‘n’ Fresh” gets ups that wouldn’t look out of place in a 1980s gym. These are the Hellfire Gala suits for both Peter (designed by Russell Dauterman) and Miles (from Bernard Chang’s variant cover for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #8).
Want them to look their very best? Well, the photo mode has been augmented with the ability to change the time of day and lighting conditions. Get that golden hour look any and every time you want it!
