Revenue from PC games rose by almost four per cent during 2023.
That's according to Newzoo, which says that this sector brought in $40.4 billion, an increase of 3.9 per cent year-on-year. In the US and UK, premium titles dominated the PC space, accounting for 56 per cent of total spend in these regions. Meanwhile, 30 per cent of revenue comes from microtransactions and 12 per cent is DLC.
Between 2018 and 2020, Newzoo says that PC saw a four per cent CAGR rise in players. From 2021 to 2023, this figure stands at 0.9 per cent, while the company predicts that this will rise 1.6 per cent.
Fortnite boasted the highest monthly average users on average on PC, while Roblox came in second place.
