Warning: Spoilers ahead for Marvel's Spider-Man 2.Spider-Man 2 fans would love for Marvel’s Venom to have a traversal feature involving Venom’s wings. It’s a feature that would be unlike anything players have seen in Insomniac’s Spider-Man series thus far, as even web wings could not compete with actual flight.
In December of last year, the game development studio behind Marvel’s Spider-Man, Insomniac Games, was hit with a devastating ransomware attack. The data that hackers got ahold of included the personal information of Insomniac employees, Wolverine gameplay, and a release line-up of games for the next decade. One of the games on that list was a Venom spin-off seemingly titled Venom: Lethal Protector, which is scheduled to come out sometime next year, and fans are already speculating about what traversal could be like as Venom.
A Reddit user by the name of HauntingFly brought up the idea of Venom having flying traversal. This would make sense for Insomniac to put in the game, considering Venom grows a pair of wings in one of his final forms during the last boss fight. While a lot of users agreed that Venom should be able to use his wings in the game, a few people weren’t super into this idea. Venom having wings is a fairly recent addition to his character, with their first appearance coming in a comic run from 2018. So, more old-school fans of the Spider-Man villain found his wings to be a bit jarring.
