SEGA Sammy has released its most financial results for the third quarter of its current fiscal year, revealing sales numbers for newly-released games.
Looking at the results presentation, sales of "some" of the new titles sold less copies than expected. "Some of new titles released in Q3 went weak", the presentation mentions. As such, SEGA Sammy's forecast has been revised downward. The appendix that comes with the financial results for Q3 also includes sales numbers for the new titles released in the current Fiscal Year, including Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name, Persona 5 Tactica, and Sonic Superstars. These new titles combined sold 3.61 million copies globally. In addition, the sheet contains sales numbers for total sales of the different series in the third quarter, including sales numbers for the Sonic, Persona, Total War, and Like a Dragon series.
The Sonic series sold 2.34 million units in Q3, while the Persona series sold 1.29 million units. The Like a Dragon series sold another 1.52 million, and the Total War series sold 620.000 units in the third quarter.
As mentioned on X by user 'MauroNL', SEGA Sammy managed to sell 19.1 million units between the first and third quarter of the current fiscal year (which runs through March 31, 2024).
