SEGA and Sonic Team have been doing a pretty great job with Sonic Frontiers. The open zone platformer has been receiving a steady flow of updates and DLC, filling out the game with new things to see and do. The latest effort, called The Final Horizon, is very nearly here, releasing on 28th September, and it'll be free for everyone who owns the game.
In this new trailer, not only is the release date revealed, but we also get a sneak peek at what to expect. It looks as though the blue blur and his buddies will be up against one more mega-boss — so big is the threat that our hedgehog hero goes one stage above Super Sonic. There is such a thing as Hyper Sonic, but we've elected to call it Super Duper Sonic because it's funnier, and we're just here for a good time.
Anyway, the DLC will have new story content as well as the ability to play as more characters — Knuckles, Tails, and Amy will be controllable in The Final Horizon. It seems like a pretty substantial update that ought to be a real fan pleaser.

Gave up on this game after I got stuck trying to get the blue emerald on chaos island. No idea why I can't keep up with the «squids» tail but it's impossible. I've looked online and a few others are having a similar problem so unless I've missed something, I don't think I'll ever go back to it. Also, I wish they'd take out the forces 2D parts.
