Sonic Frontiers, the latest entry in the series by SEGA, is a much different game than its immediate predecessors, featuring a new open-world setting and a more involving battle system that allowed the developers to go wild with Sonic's abilities. One of the Blue Hedgehog's most iconic abilities, the Spin Dash, however, didn't make it in the game, but it sounds like players will soon be able to spin dash their way through the game's different isles in the near future.
Speaking on Twitter, game director Morio Kishimoto revealed that the game's second update will indeed bring back the Spin Dash skill. Interestingly enough, the ability was being tested for the game's first update, but the developer wasn't happy about it, deciding to delay its implementation and perfect it in time for the second update's release.

Alongside the Spin Dash ability, the second Sonic Frontiers update will also bring plenty of other content, including a celebration of Sonic's birthday, a new Open Zone challenge, and a new Koco. A release window for this update has yet to be announced, but given it will celebrate Sonic's birthday, it should go live close to June 23rd.
