Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance was previously locked in for release on the 21st June, but for whatever reason, it's now launching one week earlier, on the 14th June. Atlus has confirmed the new date via its social media accounts, and states that any current pre-orders should now be fulfilled on the updated schedule.
It's always quite nice when a game actually gets brought forward, isn't it?

In terms of other games releasing around the same time, it's worth noting that SMT 5 now shares the same launch date as Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2. It's a big day for PlayStation ports!
It does mean, however, that SMT 5 avoids a clash with Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, which is still set for the 21st June. Let's face it, that's probably a good thing.

Yeah, it's for the best. SMT is tiny compared to a a behemoth like Elden Ring.
That's cool. Even having spent a good deal of money on the Switch version (Special Edition + digital), I'm still grabbing this day one. One week closer works for me.
